College Magazine Covers Analysis 3


The masthead is partly covered by the girl; however you can still read what it says. It uses a bright yellow font which stands out from the background. The font is simple, large bold and clear, making it easy to see and read also it covers the whole width of the page. With the use of these features, it easily catches the audience's eye and draws you in, getting the audience attention. It uses several sell lines around the image of the girl, some are capital letters, normal, bold and italics.

The main image of the girl is large and almost covers most of the page. The icon is facing us and is a medium shot away from the camera. The representation of the girl in the in the picture is smiling which gives the audience the impression she is enjoys attending the college making the magazine more appealing to the audience and also gives an element of trust.

The front cover of the magazine uses fresh and bright colour combinations which makes its noticeable for the audience. There are a variety of sell lines placed around the icon which may also relate to things around the college years, making it persuadable for the audience to buy the magazine.

The masthead itself is brightly coloured which makes it easy to catch the audience's eye. Using the colour bright green also helps the audience to familiarise themselves with the logo. The font is simple, large bold and clear, making it easy for the audience to see and read also it covers the whole width of the page. The bright colour of the title goes with the colour scheme and slogan which makes it look professional and appealing to the audience.

The representation of the guy in the in the picture looks confident and cheerful which gives the audience the impression that he enjoys college and that its a fun place to be, making the magazine more appealing and also giving the audience a stronger element of trust towards the college.

The front cover of the magazine uses black as the background making the bright coloured masthead and sell lines more noticeable to the audience. There are a variety of sell lines placed around the icon which may also relate to the college students making the magazine more persuadable for the audience to buy.

About Me.

My name is Charlene Bowen, I'm 16 years of age. I am currently studying Media, Travel and Tourism and Health and Social Care at Bramcote Hills Sixth Form.

I am going to be creating the front page of a new college magazine using my own photography and eventually i will go onto making a front cover, content page and double page of a music magazine.
